Start Lesson One.

Peter said goodbye to his coworkers today. This was his last day on the job. He found a new job that pays more money.

"Best of luck to you, Peter," said Bob.

"We're going to miss you around here," said Kate.

"I'm happy you're leaving. I never really liked you much," Matt said jokingly." Can I have your desk?"

Later, Peter and his coworkers met at the local tavern for a goodbye party. His boss was there, too. They stayed for a few hours, but then it was time to go. Peter shook hands with everyone, and then he went home to be with his family. He was very sad.

It's tough to say goodbye. Peter didn't want to quit his job, but with a wife and four kids, he really needs to make more money. Everyone understands that.

Now you try it. Read the paragraph above. If you have a microphone, you can record your voice and compare it to my voice.
